Kindergarten Playdate

(Social Event) The Kindergarten Playdate is a fun, informal gathering for all incoming BES kindergarteners and their families. This is an opportunity to play, meet others, meet some PTO members, and learn more about BES and PTO in a relaxed social setting.

Welcome Back Event

(Social Event) The Welcome Back Event is for all BES students and families to gather to kick off the start of a great new school year with fun activities and time with BES friends! This is all planned and executed by PTO volunteers.

Buddy Bear Fun Run

(Fundraiser) This is Buckner Elementary’s biggest fundraiser of the year. This event promotes student physical fitness, while raising vital funds for enrichment programs, educational support, and extracurricular activities. Community sponsors play a key role in funding the costs of this event so that all funds raised by students can go directly back to the school. Students collect donations from friends and family, earning fun individual and school-wide incentives as they reach progressive milestones. Each student is provided with a T-shirt to wear at our big culminating Fun Run event at the Oldham County High School track. It is such a fun-filled day for all!

Red Ribbon Week

(School Program) The Red Ribbon Week Campaign supports healthy, drug free kids throughout the United States. BES Administration typically determines themed days throughout the week to engage students in the annual national theme. PTO supports this effort typically through funding any supplies purchased, or however determined by BES Administration.

Buckner Bash

(Social Event) This is Buckner Elementary's Fall Dance Party, historically held on the Friday evening of Red Ribbon Week (late October), at BES. This is an evening of FUN for students and families, complete with a DJ, and typically coinciding with our Fall Book Fair!

Donuts with Santa

(Social Event) This is a Saturday morning event, held at BES for all students and families. In the past it has included milk & donuts, crafts, ornaments, and a visit with Santa! 

Skating Party

(Social Event) This is a fun night out at the skating rink for BES students and families. Logistical details (times, tickets, etc) are determined and communicated each year. This event is planned and executed by PTO volunteers.

Buckner Idol

(School Program) This is Buckner Elementary’s annual talent show, held at BES. It is open to all BES students to show off their talents! There is always a fun variety, so don’t be intimidated or afraid to think outside of the box. We love seeing what our BES students can do to amaze and entertain! This event is typically broken up into multiple sessions in one evening. It is planned and coordinated by PTO volunteers and supported by the BES staff. This also typically coincides with the annual student Art Show and the Spring Book Fair.
